Welcome to District 5: A Message from Brian Oneto

If you’re new to District 5 or have recently made Amador County your home, I want to personally welcome you. As a fourth-generation resident, rancher, and your current County Supervisor, I understand what makes this community such a special place to live, work, and raise a family. For over 15 years, I’ve worked to protect our rural character, support local families and businesses, and ensure responsible use of your tax dollars. My goal is simple: to preserve the quality of life that brought you here in the first place. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your perspective, and working together to keep Amador County strong for generations to come.

Welcome to Amador County

If you are new to District 5—or if you’ve recently relocated within our community—I want to take a moment to personally welcome you.

Amador County is a special place. People choose to live here for a reason: the open space, the strong sense of community, the rural character, and the quality of life that’s becoming harder to find elsewhere. Whether you’ve come here to raise a family, start a business, or enjoy a quieter pace of life, you are now part of a community that values those same principles.

As your District 5 Supervisor, it’s my responsibility—and my privilege—to help protect and preserve what makes this county so unique.

A Lifetime Rooted in This Community

My name is Brian Oneto, and I’ve had the honor of serving as your Amador County Supervisor for over 15 years.

I’m a fourth-generation resident of Amador County. My family has ranched and farmed here since the Gold Rush, and those roots have shaped who I am and how I approach public service. This isn’t just where I work—it’s home.

My wife Janine and I raised our four children here. Today, three of them have chosen to make Amador County their home as well, and we’re proud to see the next generation growing up with the same values and opportunities that we experienced.

“You deserve the same quality of life for your family that mine has enjoyed for generations.”

That belief is at the heart of everything I do as your Supervisor.

Protecting What Brought You Here

Many of the people moving into our county today are coming from areas that have changed—sometimes in ways that made them less affordable, less safe, or less connected.

Amador County has remained different, and that’s no accident.

For more than a decade and a half, I’ve worked to maintain the balance between growth and preservation. Growth is inevitable—but how we manage it matters. My focus has always been on protecting the values that define our community while making thoughtful, responsible decisions about the future.

That means preserving open space, supporting agriculture, and ensuring that development doesn’t come at the expense of our quality of life.

“We don’t want to become something we’re not—we want to keep Amador, Amador.”

A Common-Sense Approach to Government

One of the principles I’ve always stood by is simple: government should live within its means.

As a rancher and small business owner, I understand the importance of balancing a budget and making responsible financial decisions. That same mindset guides my work at the county level.

If the money isn’t there, the government shouldn’t be spending it.

That approach has helped Amador County navigate difficult financial periods while continuing to provide essential services. It’s also why I’ve consistently supported policies that protect taxpayers and ensure accountability.

My record reflects that commitment:

  • Supporting balanced county budgets
  • Rejecting pay raises for myself
  • Donating my first year’s salary to senior services
  • Opposing unnecessary or wasteful spending

“Your tax dollars should be treated with the same care and responsibility you use in your own household.”

Standing for What Matters Most

As your Supervisor, my job is to represent you—and to stand up for the values that matter most to our community.

That includes continued support for:

  • Constitutional rights, including the Second Amendment
  • Private property rights, ensuring residents can use and enjoy their land
  • Small businesses, which are the backbone of our local economy
  • First responders, including law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel
  • Veterans and seniors, who deserve our respect and support

These aren’t just talking points—they are guiding principles that shape the decisions I make on your behalf.

Proven Leadership You Can Trust

Over the years, I’ve been honored to earn the trust of voters across District 5. I’ve been re-elected multiple times because residents know where I stand and trust me to follow through.

That trust is something I don’t take lightly.

My experience has given me a deep understanding of how the county works—from budgeting and infrastructure to public safety and land use. It’s that knowledge that allows me to navigate complex issues and make informed decisions that serve the best interests of our community.

At a time when many communities are facing rapid and often disruptive change, experience matters more than ever.

“I’ve spent years working to protect what makes this county special—and I’m not done yet.”

Working Together for the Future

Amador County’s future isn’t something any one person can shape alone. It requires collaboration, communication, and a willingness to listen.

That’s why I’ve always made it a priority to remain accessible and approachable. I believe your Supervisor should be someone you can talk to—someone who listens to your concerns and takes your input seriously.

Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or just arrived, your perspective matters.

As we look ahead, we will face important decisions about growth, infrastructure, public safety, and maintaining our way of life. My goal is to ensure those decisions are made thoughtfully, responsibly, and with the long-term interests of our community in mind.

An Open Invitation

If you’re new to District 5, I encourage you to get involved, stay informed, and take part in the civic life of our community.

Attend local meetings. Ask questions. Share your thoughts.

And if you’d like to speak directly, I welcome that opportunity. I’ve always believed that good government starts with open communication.

“Your concerns, your ideas, and your voice are important—and I’m here to listen.”

Keeping Amador Amador

At the end of the day, my mission is simple: to protect what makes Amador County a place we’re proud to call home.

That means preserving our rural character, supporting our families and businesses, and ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same opportunities and quality of life that we do today.

If you’re new here, I hope you’ll come to appreciate what so many of us already know—there’s something special about Amador County.

And together, we can keep it that way.
